The Purser is a senior crew member that you would normally find on a larger vessel. On smaller vessels the Chief Stewardess is the one that will assume the duty of purser.
Tasks:
– General administration
– Managing all financial matters onboard the vessel: bookkeeping, accounting, payrolls
– Keeping all crew certificates up to date
– Interior management and provisioning
– HR – Coordinating any deliveries and contractors
– Works together with all the department heads in order to make sure that all financial matters and purchases are made efficiently
– Organising transportation, flights, bookings etc for the guests.
