Our clients are looking for an experienced and knowledgeable Housekeeper to join their Estate team. You must have excellent housekeeping knowledge and take pride in your work. Ideally you will come from a private household environment with a minimum of 4+ years’ experience and checkable references are essential. We are looking for someone who is motivated in their work and enjoys keeping the home in a pristine condition. You will have a keen eye for detail and will understand private household etiquette and privacy requirements. You must be dog friendly and light dog washing is part of the daily routine during rainy months. There are dedicated dog wash facilities. Your duties will include (but not limited to):
• High standard of cleaning, knowledge of how to care for fine furniture, silver, wooden floors and panelling
• Regular window washing
• Laundry, including hand washing of delicate fabrics such as cashmere, silk etc.
• Ironing
• Making and changing beds
• Occasionally assisting with formal dinner service as part of a two-person team
• Laying the table for family meals and clearing away afterwards
• Cleaning and tidying the kitchen
• Checking stock lists and making the EM aware when more supplies need to be ordered
This position is ideally live-in, although daily will be considered for the right person. Please note that visitors are not allowed on the Estate. You will work 5 days per week with 2 days off – your exact schedule is to be arranged between you and the other housekeeper. You must hold a valid driving license as some errands will be required of you. Your hours will be 9am – 5pm, occasionally you might be asked to stay later if the family are entertaining and you will accrue any overtime as extra time off in lieu. The salary on offer is £28,000 gross per annum, with a discretionary performance bonus. You will be awarded a food allowance (for live-in only), with a statutory pension as part of your contract. Holiday entitlement is 24 days per annum + bank holidays. Holidays to be taken when the family is away. Sky TV and WiFi as part of your live-in accommodation.
